Marcia Delanty

I love how involved the parents are in our school. I equally enjoy having the time to get to know the kids and their families. I think each family brings something special to our school and that sets us apart from other programs.

2’s & 3’s Teacher, Assistant Teacher for 4’s

Years Working for the Co-Op: 4

I have over twenty years of experience working with preschool aged children in various capacities. I joined the Co-Op part way through the year as an assistant, and returned the following year to be the teacher for all the 2s classes, one of the 3s classes, and assisting in the 4s classes too. I hope that I continue to add to the sense of community that I feel as I meet each new family.

About Me

When I’m not at school you can find me in my garden!

I also enjoy spending time with my family. I have 2 amazing grandchildren and spend as much time as I can with them! I love to take my 2 little rescue doggies, Rigby & Tater Tot, for their daily walk.

When my husband wants to treat me he knows I love coffee, chocolate and Mexican food. My favorite color is green.

The co-op offers a unique learning environment for kids and parents. Parents are essential in running and maintaining the school all while taking turns assisting in the classroom. This creates a closer dialogue between teachers and parents. It enables the families to get to know each other better as well. The co-op is a tight knit community of people (parents, grandparents, nannies, and friends) whose main objective is creating a warm friendly learning environment for all its students.

Years Working for the Co-Op: 7

I first came to the Co-Op as a parent and thought that it was such a great early education experience that I applied for an Assistant Teacher position, and then a Teaching Position after that. I have a wide rage of experience working with kids in different capacities from coaching soccer, to leading Sunday School at our church.

About Me

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to watch soccer games (GO TIMBERS & THORNS), go to movies, do art projects together, play board games, and go bowling. Pretty much you name it and we just like doing it together.

When I have some time just to myself, I enjoy reading, sewing, painting, playing soccer and playing the piano.

I think, as a teacher, it’s the close community that develops between the classroom and families. Parents have a chance to come and help out regularly in my classroom. This allows them to observe their child at school and lets parents know me better as a teacher.

About Me

I enjoy getting outside! Hiking, skiing, camping, and gardening are some of my favorite things to do. Cooking for family and friends is another great pleasure.

I like quiet times reading and sipping something hot, especially when being outside can be cold and wet.
